“Health for a Lifetime,” a series of free workshops presented by the city of Phoenix Human Services Department and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, will offer health information for older adults and the community.
The next workshop, “Destination Wellness,” will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Deer Valley Community Center, 2001 W. Wahalla Lane. For more information, call 602-495-3714.
Dr. Emily Zaragoza-Loa, Department of Family Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, will share four ways to create a path to wellness in life. These ideas include goal setting and journaling, basic nutrition, home fitness, and stress management and relaxation.
Future monthly workshops will include information about managing strokes, how to speak to your doctor, vitamins and supplements, and diabetes management and prevention. The workshops are free and open to the public and support the mission of the Healthier Phoenix Initiative.
